Hi, Alex here, to help you change your perception, to see the order in the chaos and to create the life you want.
But first, why am I talking about changing your perception in the first place?
Changing your perception is the secret to creating your own reality. It is not so much about what happens to you but how you perceive it.
So, what is changing your perception?
Almost all of us have gone through some either loss, betrayal, heartbreak, grief, illness, financial distress or any other hardships.
We have two options:
- One option is to be and stay as a victim; then nothing in your life will change.
- A second option is to find the order in the chaos and to ask ourselves, what were the lessons we had to learn, act on it and let the past go once and for all.
It is up to you, which way you want to go.
Now, you might ask, well, ok I decided for option 2 but how do I change my perception?
I am not saying it is a lovely task to do, but it will definitely help you to release the past once and for all. There is always something positive in a negative situation.
But how do you deal and release the past without dwelling on it?
a) Make a list of past hurts
What helped me to finally release the past, was to write down everything that bothered me, made me angry, frustrated or even sad. Every single hurt in my past was on the list including the lack of money, love or success. Whatever comes up for you, write it all down. The point is not to roll around in pain again, it just to notice. I know it does not feel nice to capture all the crap from our past. Stay with me, in a few minutes you will feel much better.
b) What are the lessons you learned?
Once you are done, sit back quietly, meditate on it if you like to and ask yourself, what is it I had to learn from all that. Maybe you actually turned your learnings already into actions, but you never noticed it or acknowledged it as such. There is always something you take away for your personal growth. Use a different piece of paper and write down everything that comes to your mind of what you have learned.
I give you a few examples of lessons learnt which might be relevant for you too:
Set your boundaries and
These were a big one for me. I never valued myself and was giving services away for free. This is giving but not receiving. Energy cannot flow this way, this is not good for the person who gives but also not any good for the individual who received the free service. Setting boundaries was another huge learning for me. I learned to say yes to myself and stop pleasing others.
A lack of money goes back to the same thing; if we don’t value ourselves, we keep spending money on things we don’t need or keep saying yes to underpaid jobs and never ask for a pay rise.
Maybe you will also realise that you had to go through all of the things to find out what your purpose in life is. You might find yourself helping and inspire other people who experience the same thing and need someone like you. There is always a gift presented in the tough things in life if we allow ourselves to see it.
c) Write a thank you letter
Once you have written down a list of the things you learned, write a thank you letter. You might want to do it like this:
Thanks ___________ for letting me experience ____________. You showed me that I have to _________ (e.g. set my boundaries/ value myself, love myself….) I started to __________ (e.g. if ‘set my boundaries’ was the learning: to say yes to myself and no to things and people in my life who drain my energy…use examples; if you have not done so, write down the intention to do so. Be specific.)
d) Eliminate the negative list and read out loud your thank you letter
Now you can burn or shredder the negative things you experienced. Make a ritual out of it if you like. Say out loud, that this past situation can now go and leave your energy field.
Now, before you go to bed, breathe in and out slowly, then read out loud the thank you letter. Notice how you feel after this and especially after this night’s sleep. You might have a dream which processes the remaining bits and pieces to be released. Don’t worry about this. This is part of the healing process.
You will feel much lighter after this exercise, you will feel like a huge weight was taken off you.
Changing the perspective and being grateful for the lessons we learned is transforming our lives. We are now open to receive positive high vibrational energy into your field. You will see how things are going to shift. You will be more open to new opportunities.
Remember, some hurt can sit very deep and you might want to read out this thank you letter several times before you can fully see the results in your life.
There is never a loss but a transformation.
