Life is a mirror

Life is a mirror. Everything in your mind will be reflected back at you. So watch out what is going on in your mind and what you are thinking.

Once you understand this concept, this is a life changer. If you are being negative, you send out negative energy vibrations and guess what? You will receive negative results. Once you learn how to shift your thinking and being positive, your energy level will increase and you will harvest your fruits. However, it is not as easy as it sounds like.

Unfortunately just having a desire does not necessarily give you what you want. That’s why lots of people who tried the law of attraction are failing and blaming this not to be true. The problem is your energy in your body. Everything is made of energy. I believe everybody has some sort of issues and baggage to deal with and if you believe in past lives, some of the problems might even stam from there. Subconsciously we might hang on to a certain belief system which can be triggered by some negative experiences from this or past lives if you believe so. You can think as positively as you want, you won’t get it because subconsciously you are blocking yourself. The best way to deal with this is to acknowledge your problems and to let go. For some people yoga or meditation is the way to get aware of all the little issues and false belief systems we have. Once you realise, let it go and write down your true new believe. You can feel a shift in your energy and will notice how suddenly the law of attraction is working.

“Life is a mirror: if you frown at it, it frowns back; if you smile, it returns the greeting.”

I love the photos below which reflect the beauty of the world we live in and everybody can see. The only thing we need to do is to open our mind and heart. The second photo reflects the mirror of our life.

What a dramatic sky. I was at home being sick when the light in my living room turned into a golden pink, I looked out of the window and could not believe what I saw. I quickly grabbed my camera and took a photo of the trees in Gunnamatta Bay, Cronulla, from my balcony. The colours blew me away.

First I was disappointed not being able to go down to the bay to take photos but I was saying to myself to be creative instead. In the end I loved the result, different and not a typical sunset photo.

I was playing around with that photo in the Macphun softwares. The result of my creativity is the following photo:

Photos that make you want to visit Manuel Antonio National Park in Costa Rica

If you appreciate pure nature, are interested in observing wildlife and love relaxing on beautiful beaches watching an incredible sunset, then Costa Rica should be on your travel bucket list.

Manuel Antonio National Park faces the Pacific Ocean in central Costa Rica. This part of Costa Rica encompasses rugged rainforests, white sandy beaches and coral reefs. Costa Rica is known for its vast diversity of tropical flowers and animals. The National Park is roughly 680 hectares huge and has a variety of different hiking trails, which lead you from the coast up into the mountains.

If you are keen on hiking through the rain forest, you want to make sure you can see all the wildlife and not missing out on anything. I, therefore, recommend booking a guided tour through the rain forest. The guides use a large telescope and know the forest and their inhabitants inside out. They spot tiny little animals you would have never guessed finding on your own.

Enjoy the journey through the rainforest in Manuel Antonio National Park:

Costa Rica has some fascinating wildlife to see in the rainforests:

The Montezuma is a New World tropical icterid bird. It is a resident breeder in the Caribbean coastal lowlands from southeastern Mexico to central Panama.

Who would have found this tiny grasshopper in the middle of the rainforest without the local guides and their telescopes?

Know when to bite your tongue.
You can see the white-faced capuchin monkeys when strolling through the rain forest. Unfortunately, this species is endangered. These two guys in that photo were fighting and chasing each other.

The three-toed sloths are one of the Costa Rican locals. They are very slow in moving from one spot to another. Their faces seem to smile all day long. When you walk through the rain forest, take your time and see if you can spot them in the trees.

lizard
The Black Spiny-tailed Iguana is a lizard in Central America and Mexico. It is the largest species in the genus Ctenosaura and has been recorded as the fastest-running species of lizard. They have distinctive black, keeled scales on their long tails, which gives them their common name. The males are capable of growing up to 1.3 meters in length, and the females are slightly shorter, at 0.8–1 meter.

Besides the tropical animals you will notice the most beautiful colourful flowers in the rainforest:

It was raining in the rainforest near Cachi in Costa Rica. The flowers were covered with rain drops which made it so much more interesting to photograph.

Lots of you will notice this beautiful orchid, however, to see it growing in the wild rainforest is fascinating.

Costa Rica has also plenty of options to go on boat trips for snorkelling in the coral reef. On the way you might be lucky to see dolphins and whales:

I was on a snorkelling trip in Costa Rica and was lucky to being able to see a dolphin jumping out and back into the ocean.

Being on a snorkelling trip and seeing some dolphins is what I have expected but then getting to see a humpback whale was not on my list and made the trip so much more exciting.

Now you have seen so much from this wonderful region of Costa Rica, the beautiful colourful flowers and cute, exotic wildlife. It is time to relax on the beach in Manuel Antonio National Park enjoying the sunset.

Happiness guaranteed when following your heart and do things you believe in

We all have our own core values we stand for. Some of us might not be aware of it but your subconscious will know. People follow their believes and values. Doing what we believe in brings a sense of contentment and happiness.

The minute we do the opposite makes us feel sad and unhappy, maybe even angry at ourselves. So, why do we do that then?

It depends on your situation. In a job you might be forced to do something which is against your values you stand for. It might make you upset and unhappy in your job environment and you may think you don’t have any other choice. Well, you do have a choice. Life is made of the choices you make. You are responsible for your life.

How to overcome fears and get what you want

light

Fear is like walking in the dark searching for the light but as soon as you see the light you walk away because you are scared. It is out of your comfort zone. Friends cannot do much; they mean it in a good way when they tell you there is nothing you need to be scared of. We all know, that doesn’t help. We are not listening to that kind of advice.

Fear is real and in order to deal with it you firstly need to acknowledge it. Fear is psychological. Worry, tension, embarrassment, panic are results from mismanaging negative imaginations. But knowing that you deal with fears, doesn’t mean you can heal it immediately. You need to go inside your soul and try to understand where it comes from. People say it is only in your mind but in fact it is real. Fear is your success enemy no.1. Fear is stopping us from recognising and taking on opportunities. You might actually feel you found what you were looking for but fear is stopping you to take it, you go back to your old habits and wonder why you are still unhappy. Unfortunately fear can make people sick, depressed and shortens your life.

Never give up and always believe in yourself

sunset Ammerland

Today I want to share a wonderful quote from Marylin Monroe with you.

Never give up and always believe in yourself. Life is beautiful and there is so much to smile about if you just let it happen. Overcome your fears and live your life to its fullest potential. If your fear wants to take over just ask yourself – what is it you are going to lose? Probably nothing. Never give up, failure just means you had to learn a lesson and the best is yet to come.

“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends – they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything – they’re your true best friends. Don’t let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they’ll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them – actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can’t give up because if you give up, you’ll never find your soulmate. You’ll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you’re gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.”
– Marylin Monroe

Key to happiness

glowing sky

“As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery; we have learned that the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles to inner peace are disturbing emotions such as anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion and a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness.” – Dalai Lama

Why not to be scared when your life is changing

sunset

People are usually scared of changes because it is unknown and it brings us out of our comfort zone. Let me tell you something: change can be a good thing and it usually happens when you just get to comfortable but felt you always wanted to change something in your life but were scared of the unexpected. Be open-minded and embrace the new. The unexpected can be the most beautiful thing you will experience. Getting out of your comfort zone makes you feel great and happy.

Our mother nature is changing on a daily basis. Changes from day to night brings out the beautiful colours. Imagine it would always be the same, life would be boring. Light reflects transition from one state to another. You might see a light in the tunnel or have a great idea to pursue; this means change and with it a new beginning.

Live your life; expect the unexpected and be always ready to embrace change in your life. Just open your mind and you will see that there is always something positive in changes even if you can not see it in that moment. Once time will pass, you will be able to see it. Believe in ‘everything happens for a reason’.

“Light precedes every transition. Whether at the end of a tunnel, through a crack in the door or the flash of an idea, it is always there, heralding a new beginning.”

Chose your attitude to create happiness

living in happiness

It is not a set of circumstances or the people you are with who make you happy. Happiness comes from your inside and your attitude.

Are you able to adopt to changing circumstances because your change your attitude?

If you ever face situations you don’t like, think about what it is you don’t like in particular. Is it very important to you or is it just a first world problem? What happens when you would change your attitude? Would you feel better?

Don’t forget: it is all in your mind; change your attitude and you will feel happiness.

“A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.” – Hugh Downs-

Set your boundaries to live your values

sunset in NYC

Setting boundaries is important and necessary; it is a life skill.

We all have our own core values; you might not be aware of it but once you think about it and write it down it becomes very clear what the drivers are in your life. Now, life is challenging us with situations where others control or want to control our life. It might be your work place where you get told to do something even though it might be against your core values. I have seen people, especially younger ones who are scared to say something and just agree and do what they are told to do. However, with more experience you become more aware of what is important to you and have more confidence to defend your values. A lesson I learned in life is to set your boundaries from the beginning. This can be done in a nice and diplomatic way. Setting boundaries means to clearly and openly communicate and asserting your personal values and not compromising or even having them violated. What is acceptable for you and where does it stop? Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself. Live your values. Some people love to control our lives or don’t want to take responsibility for their own life. It is up to you how much others can take over.

Without knowing your core values and setting your boundaries your identity is becoming diffused and defined by others; but hey it is your life.

Healthy relationships are an ‘inter-dependent’ relationship of two independent people. Identify what is important to you and defend your values, adapt if necessary but stay true to yourself.

When you think about your values you probably come up with 10 important things. Write them all down and once finished think about the least important one in your list and cross it off. Keep going until you have 3 core values left. These are the ones driving you. Now take a second and think about how much time you spend on all the 3 core values? Maybe you don’t spend any time or a minimal amount only. Change it and live your values. Set your boundaries and communicate this with the people you deal with in business and private life. Make your core values a priority in everything you deal with; make decisions which are in line with your personal values when you are being presented with life choices or people try to control and confront you. Having healthy values and boundaries is a lifestyle, not a quick fix to a relationship dispute.

Everything happens for a reason

Life can be a mystery. For some reason we end up in a certain place at a certain time and meet certain people. Some of them will stay in our life forever, some stay for a season and some people enter our life for a reason. I believe that this is meant to be. It is up to you to find out who belongs into which category.

Sometimes life is changing and not everything is working out the way we were hoping for. But do you know what? I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. It might be hard to acknowledge and understand. You probably don’t see the reason in that very moment but time will reveal to you why it happened. Maybe we are meant to learn some lessons in life, gain some important experiences or we need to realise how much we should appreciate our lives.

Maybe the universe is telling you something and you need to change your directions in life to achieve your goals. If something you were working towards is not going ahead, believe in something better is out there for you.

Thinking that way helps you to stay positive even in hard or challenging times. It makes you want to move forward. Expect new opportunities knocking on your door. Don’t let them go and embrace each moment in your life. Life can be short.

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” – Marilyn Monroe
